Dickens' Village Photo Fun at P2!

P2 took part in Old Town's fourth annual Dickens Village on Saturday with a fun Victorian photo opportunity! Throughout the day families got out of the cold, walked into our fun prop shop photo booth and traveled back in time with a chance to dress up in traditional Victorian clothing! Everything from ornate bonnets and top hats to lace gloves and Tiny Tim crutches were available to try on and experience the look and feel of a classic Dickens’ holiday! Once costumes were in place, our guests posed in front of a fun backdrop complete with props for their own personal photo shoot! After each photo session, guests were able to purchase the images of their choice as a keepsake from the day and also enjoy hot coca and coffee while relaxing inside and enjoying P2’s views of historic Old Town! Our prop shop photo booth is perfect for fun events like this and can also be rented as a personal photo booth for events of any kind at P2! A special thanks also goes out to the Lansing Civic Players who graciously donated all the costumes for the days use. More information on the Lansing Civic Players can be found at: http://www.lansingcivicplayers.org/

ePIFanyNow "Pass it Forward" comes to P2!

Perspective2 was thrilled to welcome ePIFanyNow "Pass it Forward" to our studio last Saturday for an afternoon of feel-good fun!

Pass it Forward is an event in which local individuals come together to spread random acts of kindness to others within their own community! On the day of the event we welcomed over 50 people into our studio as well as the director and founder of Pass it Forward, Bob Hoffman. Bob and his volunteers brainstormed several options for completing acts of kindness with our guests before they divided up into teams and set off into the community.

Each person brought along with them a Pass it Forward card, which they gave to whomever they performed the random act of kindness for. Those who received the cards were then asked to keep the cycle going by performing a random acts of kindness for someone else and passing along the card to them. Two hours later, all the guests returned to P2 and shared their heartwarming stories with everyone along with the joy they felt for doing a nice deed in the community. One group cleaned up the near by river trail, another group bought ice cream cones for others at the Arctic Corner ice cream shop! Others visited nursing homes and drop off flowers to Sparrow Hospital.

It was a truly amazing event with such wonderful people! Thanks to everyone that came out as well as the wonderful people that helped to bring Pass it Forward to P2 and to Old Town, Lansing. If you are interested in participating with Pass it Forward in the future make sure to check out: www.ePIFanyNow.org

The pictures above show two groups sharing their stories from the day about how they Pass Forward random acts of kindness.

THE SMOOCH! PROJECT Comes to P2

Perspective2 was thrilled to welcome THE SMOOCH! PROJECT to our studio on Tuesday, June 22nd! THE SMOOCH! PROJECT is a world wide photographic tour in which photographer Bonnie Fournier snaps photos of anyone willing to publicly demonstrate their affection for another with a smooch on the cheek! Based in Minnesota, the project kicked off their world tour right here at Old Town's P2, before traveling onto Detroit and then to other destinations around the world!

The goal of THE SMOOCH! PROJECT is to capture 10,000 photos from around the world and archive them on the project's website: TheSmoochProject.com. Fournier, who said this project originally began as a personal art project has now become so much more. Fournier said THE SMOOCH! PROJECT shows that regardless of all the differences people have in the world, they all share the same desire to welcome love and affection into their lives. Prior to the projects arrival in Old Town, Fournier and her staff of volunteers had already collected a total of 2,600 SMOOCH! photos just in Minnesota alone over the past four years. P2 was so happy to be a part of the project and was honored to help them on their way to 10,000 photos!

On the night of the photo shoot more than 90 people came to P2 to have their picture take and be apart of THE SMOOCH! PROJECT. The event was so popular in fact, we kept our doors open an hour and a half longer in order to give everyone a chance to be part of such a fun project! Not only did we have couples, friends as families here to participate, we also had pets and their owners demonstrating their love for each other with a smooch on the cheek in front of the camera as well!

We also had some great press coverage of the event from local TV station WILX. The State News as well as The Lansing State Journal's Noise also came out to cover the event! SMOOCH! coverage was also found in Lansing's City Pulse and Capital Gains Magazine as well! Check out the links below.

The images from the event will be added to the project's website within the next couple weeks and we are so excited to have P2 and Old Town a part of SMOOCH! history! Check out some picture of the event taken by Lynne Brown and the press links below.
