Last Saturday, the 31st of January we had our first "Open Shoot" with instruction from me, Juan Beltran. The topic of our first shoot was "Shooting on the Cheap" using only one light. It was a great success and everyone had a wonderful time, I know i did. I would like to thank everyone who came out and participated!
The "Open Shoot" is basically a two hour drop-in shoot with a new topic each month. The next "Open Shoot" topic is going to be "Fashion Product" and it will be held on Tuesday, February 24th from 4-6pm and Saturday, February 28th from 10am-Noon. The reason the "Open Shoot" came to be is that we were getting a lot of feedback from people saying that they learn better from hands on experience and wanted less lecture and more time actually shooting. So during one of our staff meetings we came up with the idea for the monthly "Open Shoots" and I volunteered to Instruct them because, well, I learn better through hands on instruction myself and I love to teach that way.
The cost of the "Open Shoots" is $10.oo for P2 members and $25.oo for non members and can be paid the day of the shoot.
Here are some pictures from the "Open Shoot" on Saturday, January 31st, courtesy of one of our new members, Jerod Karam.
